What is the state of the Republican party?
WASHINGTON — The state of Republican Party in the U.S. is not good.
The national Republican Party is no better.
In fact, the two parties have been in a perpetual state of flux since their inception in the early 18th century.
Since then, they have been fighting for control of the federal government, often in the name of “small government.”
The first Republican president, Thomas Jefferson, in 1804 was an ardent proponent of a single-payer health care system.
But after his death in 1821, Republicans in Congress passed a bill known as the Federalist Papers that aimed to create a single payer health care plan.
It didn’t pass.
After the Civil War, the Republican Party adopted an agenda to defeat Reconstruction and establish a single system of national control.
This agenda was followed by the Republican Reconstruction Party, which focused on economic development and expanded the federal welfare state.
With the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860, the party shifted gears and began to build a strong base of support in the Northeast.
That base grew as the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s became the focus of the national movement for civil rights.
Today, there are more than 70 million people of color living in the United States.
A lot of that is due to the fact that the Democratic Party was led by people of African descent.
Even though the Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, was an advocate for the African-American community, many in the party did not see that as a good thing.
There are a lot of reasons why the Republican National Committee (RNC) has struggled to build an organization of its own.
One of the biggest challenges was finding a way to unite the disparate elements of the party.
“It’s a problem that’s been going on for a long time, and it’s got to be addressed,” said Jim Watson, an RNC spokesman.
Watson said that the RNC had hired a new national political director, Jon Huntsman, who is from Huntsman’s hometown of Decatur, Alabama.
Huntsman will be responsible for recruiting and developing candidates, recruiting and vetting donors and finding a permanent chairman.
And the RNC is not going to be the only party looking to rebuild.
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said the party needs to rebuild its leadership.
He noted that the Democrats have struggled for a number of years to gain national attention.
For example, in the 1980s, Democrats in Congress were struggling to keep up with the Carter administration, which was ramping up its efforts to bring democracy to Latin America.
Schumer said the RNC needs to do the same.
We need a new party.
A new national leadership that will be able to do that,” Schumer said.
Republicans also need to make a concerted effort to reach out to the younger generation, he said.
It’s not enough to talk about tax cuts.
It is time to talk to young people, he added.
Republican strategist and longtime GOP strategist Brad Todd, who served as an RNC communications director in 2016, said there are a number issues that are causing the party problems.
Among them, he cited the party’s inability to reach African-Americans and Latinos, as well as the party having trouble attracting women voters, Todd said.
The party also has a lot to learn about fundraising, Todd continued.
Todd said the Republicans need to focus on building the ground game in the 2018 midterm elections.
If they are going to win back the House, they will have to do so with a better base of supporters.
To that end, he encouraged party officials to focus more on winning the Latino vote, and he pointed to an opportunity that may be opening up: the legalization of marijuana.
Legalization could be a boon for the Republican base, Todd concluded.
